He is the second Indian to rise to the high echelons of Rotary International. He joined Rotary in 1961 and served the club as president in 1970-71, District Governor 1976-77, R.I.Director 1981-83 and R.I.President 1991-92.

Awards and Recognition: The government of India conferred him "Padmashree" in 2006; "Udyog Rattan Award" by the PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

Governor's Message:

By providence my name itself is associated with Shimoga! When I heartily wish all success to the Charter presentation ceremony and issue of "Swarna Chakra" bulletin of it I shall be serving myself! But, after all, which Governor gets a chance like this!!

Our Governor's Special Representative:

Joined Rotary in 1975. He was member of Eight Rotary Clubs in different parts of the country. Served Vijaya Bank for 29 years and took V.R.S in 2000. He served Rotary in various capacities. He has made all out efforts in the formation of our club with 46 Charter Members. He has heartily wished our club all success.

He is M.Com Graduate from Mysore University; rendered 25 years service in Co-operative sector, and also social service in various social service institutions such as Nagarika Samithi, Political sector and others. Now he is dedicating his time in Rotary service.
